Catholic Liturgical Families at a Glance
The
Catholic Church has many variations on the
liturgy, called "rites". These
rites

common rite found in Quebec is
the Roman
Rite, also known as the Latin
Rite. It
can be celebrated in two ways. The
most
frequent is the ordinary form, developed
according
to the 1970 reforms
following
the Second Vatican Council
(1962-1965).
The extraordinary form is
celebrated
entirely in Latin, according to
the
liturgical books of 1962, just prior to
Vatican II.
